What you'll study

The programme provides a broad survey of literature in English together with more specialised options in periods, genres and approaches. Core study typically covers literary analysis and history, major British and American authors, and key movements from medieval to contemporary literature. You will also study language and linguistics, literary theory, rhetoric and composition, and may choose modules in creative writing, world literature, film and media studies, or digital humanities.
