What you'll study

The honours year builds on undergraduate property or related study and combines advanced coursework with a substantial research component. Typical subjects cover advanced property valuation and appraisal, property investment and finance, development feasibility and project appraisal, market analysis, property law and policy, and sustainable property practice. Students also study research methods and complete an independent honours dissertation or a major research project under academic supervision.

Teaching is delivered through a mix of seminars, case studies, practical project work and one-on-one supervision for the research thesis. Coursework emphasises applied analytical skills: financial modelling for property, use of market data, statutory and planning frameworks, and property asset management. Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a relevant undergraduate degree, typically a Bachelor of Property, Bachelor of Commerce with property-related majors, or another cognate degree with sufficient property content. In addition to the academic requirement, applicants may be asked to submit a statement of purpose outlining their research interests, examples of prior coursework or reports, and referees who can comment on academic ability.
