What you'll study

The programme provides a foundation in contemporary planning theory, statutory frameworks and practice. You will study subjects that cover urban and regional planning, resource and environmental management, and the statutory processes that shape development decisions.

The programme is delivered through a mix of lectures, workshops, studio-based project work and applied assessments. It is structured so that students may complete it full-time over a shorter period or part-time while working.

Entry requirements

Applicants typically need a recognised bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent tertiary study. Candidates with relevant professional experience but without a degree may be considered on a case-by-case basis, often with the requirement to demonstrate appropriate academic or professional preparation.

• Professional experience: relevant planning, environmental, design or policy work can strengthen an application, particularly for mature applicants.
• English language: international applicants must meet Massey University's English proficiency requirements through recognised tests or prior tertiary study in English.
