What you'll study

This master's combines taught modules with an applied dissertation or consultancy project to develop operational, strategic and analytical capabilities in supply chains. Core topics typically include supply chain strategy and design, logistics and transport management, procurement and supply management, operations and production planning, and inventory and network optimisation. Quantitative modules cover modelling, simulation and supply chain analytics, often using spreadsheet modelling, optimisation software and data analysis tools. You will also study risk, sustainability and resilience in supply chains, and address contemporary themes such as digitalisation, e‑commerce fulfilment and circular supply chains through case studies and industry projects.

The programme is usually delivered through lectures, seminars, practical workshops and group projects. Assessment methods commonly include coursework, group reports, presentations, exams and a substantial individual or team project that applies learning to a real or simulated industry problem.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold an undergraduate degree at or above UK second class honours (2:1) or an international equivalent in a relevant discipline such as business, engineering, logistics, economics or a related subject. Candidates with a lower classification plus significant relevant work experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics or operations are also considered.

International applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English. Typical evidence accepted by the university includes recognised test scores or other approved qualifications; applicants should consult the university's admissions guidance for current acceptable tests and score requirements. Additional requirements may include a CV, references and a statement of purpose outlining suitability and motivation for the programme.
