Entry requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent graduate-level preparation as defined by the department.
• Professional Texas educator certificate (active or eligible) or equivalent certification/experience in K–12 education; candidates without a Texas certificate should contact the department about eligibility pathways.
• Demonstrated professional experience in education, typically several years of classroom teaching and/or school leadership experience.
• Academic transcripts showing satisfactory graduate GPA; many successful applicants hold a solid academic record (program may specify a minimum GPA).
• Application materials including CV/resume, a written statement of professional goals, and professional references. Completion of state-required background checks or fingerprinting is required for certification-related practicum placements.
• Completion of any prerequisite leadership coursework as required by the programme or evidence of equivalent experience may be requested.
