What you'll study

The programme combines theoretical foundations in terrorism studies and risk science with applied modules on resilience, crisis management and intelligence-led decision making. Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a good honours degree (equivalent to a UK second-class honours) in a relevant discipline such as security studies, politics, international relations, law, engineering, computer science, emergency management or a related subject. Candidates with substantial and relevant professional experience in policing, armed forces, intelligence, emergency planning, critical infrastructure or the private security sector may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

International applicants will need to demonstrate proficiency in English to the University’s required standard (for example, commonly an overall IELTS score with an appropriate minimum in each component) or an equivalent recognised qualification. You may also be asked to supply a personal statement, references and evidence of any relevant professional qualifications or security vetting where appropriate.
