What you'll study

The programme combines theoretical foundations with practical classroom techniques. You will study modules covering second language acquisition, language analysis for teachers (grammar, phonology and vocabulary), lesson planning and classroom management, and contemporary teaching methodologies for reading, writing, listening and speaking. Assessment and testing principles, materials design and adaptation, and learner-centred approaches are core elements of the course.

Teaching practice is an integral component: the certificate emphasises microteaching and supervised practicum or classroom observations so you gain hands-on experience with lesson delivery, feedback and reflective practice.
