What you'll study

The programme develops core economic theory and applied quantitative skills across microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, with an emphasis on issues relevant to Cameroon and the Central African region. Teaching typically covers foundational modules in introductory micro- and macroeconomics and quantitative methods in the early years, progressing to intermediate and advanced topics and applied electives.

• Core theory: microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, welfare economics, public finance and monetary economics.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to have a secondary-school leaving qualification recognised by the university. Typical entry routes include a pass in the GCE Advanced Level (Advanced Level) or an equivalent secondary-school certificate, with satisfactory grades in mathematics and in at least one social science subject such as economics, accounting or geography. Candidates presenting a Baccalauréat or other national qualifications will be assessed against comparable standards.

Selection may also take into account the applicant's overall academic record, performance at any entrance examination or interview where required, and language competence in English. Mature applicants with relevant prior learning or professional experience may be considered through the university's alternative admission routes.
