What you'll study

The program combines undergraduate coursework with three years of graduate-level DPT study. Entry requirements

Admission begins at the first-year undergraduate level; eligible dual-degree students are guaranteed a place in the DPT program provided they meet program-specific progression criteria. Two scheduling models are available: an accelerated 3+3 option requiring completion of all bachelor’s requirements by the end of year three (including specified summer coursework between freshman and sophomore years) and a 4+3 option where the bachelor’s is completed in four years followed by three years of graduate study. Students work with undergraduate and graduate advisers to follow required sequences and may switch between 3+3 and 4+3 with adviser consultation.

Career prospects

The DPT prepares graduates for clinical practice as licensed physical therapists. Sacred Heart highlights strong clinical exposure and reports a 98% ultimate pass rate on the national licensure exam for its DPT graduates, indicating readiness for professional entry-level practice in outpatient, hospital and rehabilitation environments.
