What you'll study

Coursework combines general education and core psychology with specialized health and counseling topics and supervised field experiences. Key areas named in the program include:

Entry requirements

This is a degree-completion program: applicants must have completed at least 36 quarter (24 semester) units before admission. Antioch will accept transfers up to the equivalent of three full-time years (120 quarter/80 semester units). Program degree requirements include a minimum of 180 quarter credits (maximum 120 lower-division plus at least 60 upper-division), with at least 45 residency credits at AUS and a minimum of 36 transfer credits. Students must submit official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended and a short essay (two–three pages, ~500 words) addressing interest in the program and personal preparation; transcript evaluations are required for coursework completed outside the U.S. or Canada (except Quebec). Application deadlines follow the quarter calendar (examples: Spring application deadline March 15; Summer June 15; Fall September 15; Winter December 15) and complete applications after a deadline may be considered if space remains.

Career prospects

The program prepares graduates for applied roles in integrated healthcare and behavioral health settings. Positions explicitly identified include:

The curriculum emphasizes internships, capstone projects and applied assignments to support direct entry or advancement in these fields. Students may also pursue MA pathways in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Couple and Family Therapy, with the first 12 MA credits potentially counting toward the BA if accepted.
