Programme overview

Grado en Biotecnología (240 ECTS) is delivered face-to-face in Spanish at the Santa Úrsula campus. The programme combines practical laboratory work in small groups with connections to regional biotech industry (including links to BIOVAL) and offers optional English-taught subjects plus an International Programme certificate. The degree has been taught since 2009/2010, accredited by the Ministry (initially in 2017, renewed in 2023) and the Faculty holds institutional accreditation.

What you'll study

The curriculum emphasises hands-on laboratory practice throughout the degree using up-to-date equipment. Students learn fundamental biotechnological techniques and experimental design, and may take subjects in English to obtain a basic or advanced International Programme in Biotechnology certificate. The university also advertises possibilities for bilingual study, double-degree routes (with Ciencias del Mar or with L'École de Biologie Industrielle, Cergy-Pontoise), and participation in EU-CONEXUS international activities.

Entry requirements

Admissions are managed by the UCV admissions office. To reserve a place students provide a photocopy of their DNI (or equivalent), personal data and pay a reservation fee (the site states a 300 € deposit for most degrees; confirmation of place is indicated as 500 € in the admissions information).
