Entry requirements

• Weighted high school GPA of 3.5 as calculated by Barry University Office of Undergraduate Admissions for entry to the 3+3 pathway.
• Maintain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2 and a 3.5 GPA in all undergraduate major coursework while in the program.
• Complete the LSAT no later than the February administration of the student’s junior (third) year; minimum LSAT score of 152 or the score otherwise established by Barry University Law School.
• Apply for admission to Barry University Law School by March 1 of the junior year.
• Submit a letter from the History and Political Science Department Chair and the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs certifying satisfactory progress toward completion of all undergraduate requirements.
• Meet Barry Law School standards for moral fitness and character.

Career prospects

The combined pathway prepares students for the JD and subsequent bar admission pathways typical for law graduates. The curriculum emphasizes legal reasoning, research, quantitative analysis and contextual knowledge of U.S. institutions — skills used in litigation, transactional practice, public interest law, government and policy roles. Clinically oriented JD coursework and internships during years five and six provide practical experience that supports entry into legal practice or further legal careers.
