What you'll study

This programme provides a balance of biological, behavioural and applied coursework designed to build the academic and clinical prerequisites required for occupational therapy graduate programmes. Core courses cover human anatomy and physiology, kinesiology and biomechanics, lifespan development, abnormal psychology, and pathophysiology. You will also take targeted occupational therapy preparatory courses such as motor control and learning, therapeutic interventions, assistive technology and activity analysis.

Research methods and statistics are included to develop skills in evidence-based practice. Practical components include structured observation hours, supervised lab sessions in clinical skills and adaptive equipment, and a capstone or practicum that integrates theory with community-based service. Electives allow tailoring toward paediatrics, geriatrics, mental health or physical rehabilitation.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a secondary school diploma or equivalent with a strong science and mathematics background. Typical entry expectations include successful completion of college-preparatory courses in biology and chemistry, and solid grades in math and English. Transfer applicants are assessed on college coursework completed. International applicants must meet language proficiency requirements.
