Programme overview

The Meredith Master of Education is a coeducational graduate programme intended primarily for licensed K–12 teachers. It offers four specialized tracks (elementary education, English as a second language, literacy, and special education — general curriculum). Most students (98%) are employed as teachers. The programme requires 33–36 credit hours (11–12 courses) depending on track, with a typical completion time of about 2.5 years. Courses meet in the evenings: during fall and spring sessions classes are scheduled 5:00–7:50 p.m. once per week, and in summer sessions 5:00–8:30 p.m. twice per week. Delivery combines in-person, hybrid, and online formats.

Entry requirements

The programme is designed for licensed K–12 teachers. Admissions operate on a rolling cycle with listed deadlines: July 1 for fall entry (classes begin in August), November 1 for spring entry (classes begin in January), and April 1 for summer entry (classes begin in May). Career prospects

Graduates are positioned to improve classroom practice and to pursue leadership positions within schools or district systems. Meredith-trained educators are actively recruited locally and regionally; alumni have received local, state and national educator awards. Given the programme population, the majority of students remain employed in teaching roles during and after study.
