What you'll study

The program includes a core of required courses and elective credits. Core courses explicitly listed by semester are:

• Semester One (Summer): EDUC 631 Cultural Diversity (3 hrs) plus 6 hours of electives
• Semester Two (Fall): EDUC 511 Research Methods in Education (3 hrs); EDUC 622 Classroom Management (3 hrs); EDUC 621 Assessment and Evaluation (3 hrs)
• Semester Three (Spring): EDUC 512 Research Seminar (3 hrs); EDUC 662 School Organization and Law (3 hrs); EDUC 670 Professional Teacher Standards (3 hrs)
• Semester Four (Summer): EDUC 623 Research-Based Teaching Strategies (3 hrs) plus 6 hours of electives

Core topics named in program materials include school organization and law, assessment and evaluation, classroom management, professional teacher standards, research methods and research-based teaching strategies. Entry requirements

• Baccalaureate degree (BA or BS) with a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0
• One official transcript from each college or university previously attended
• Completed health and immunization record: Page 1 (Sections A and B) must be completed and signed; online MEd students are not required to show proof of immunization (Section C)
• International applicants: this program is not approved for F-1 visa (SEVIS) admission due to the online/hybrid delivery; conditional admission may be possible for applicants who do not meet requirements
