Students undertake graduate coursework at NYU New York before moving to NYU Abu Dhabi to carry out their dissertation research in on‑campus labs.

Graduates receive an NYU doctoral degree and leave with extended research experience in contemporary biological fields. The programme emphasizes laboratory research skills and domain expertise that support careers in academic research, industry research and development, and other research‑intensive roles, backed by training and resources from both NYU New York and NYU Abu Dhabi.
The Global PhD Student Fellowship is fully funded: tuition, fees and health insurance are provided for the duration of the programme. NYU Abu Dhabi supplies a generous research assistantship and stipend, contributes toward accommodation costs in New York and provides campus housing at no cost in Abu Dhabi, as well as assistance for degree‑related travel between the two campuses.
