It suits applicants seeking clinical or leadership roles in social services, especially those committed to work with vulnerable, oppressed or at-risk populations.

The degree requires substantial field education: Standard-plan students complete 400 hours across two 15-week semesters (approximately 15–18 hours per week), while Advanced Standing students complete a 500-hour practicum placement.
Applicants must submit an online application with fee and official transcripts showing a bachelor’s from a regionally accredited institution. A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher is required; applicants with lower GPAs may be asked to submit GRE or MAT scores. Admission also requires a personal statement addressing motivation for graduate social work and reflections on the program themes (human rights and justice, cultural and spiritual humility, holistic practice, empowerment). A videoconference interview may be requested.
Advanced Standing applicants must have a CSWE-accredited BSW; those whose BSW was awarded more than five years ago may qualify for Advanced Standing only if currently employed in social services or holding a social work license. Advanced Standing applicants must submit three letters of recommendation (two addressing emerging social work abilities, with at least one from a program/practicum director or practicum instructor/supervisor) and a final BSW practicum evaluation (a mid-term evaluation can be used for conditional admission).
Graduates are prepared for clinical and leadership roles across health, nonprofit and public sectors. Common job titles identified by the program include Licensed Clinical Social Worker, medical/healthcare social worker, school social worker, substance abuse social worker, child welfare advocate, sexual assault counselor, sex/human trafficking advocate, immigration policy advocate, military/veterans affairs social worker, and nonprofit or social services director.
The program lists a per-credit cost and a term resource fee: $650 per credit hour plus a $210 resource fee per term.
