What you'll study
The program balances theoretical foundations with applied clinical work. Students engage with evidence-based practices, technologies for assessment and intervention, and community-based placements. The program also prioritises preparation to serve children and adults from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and offers deeper medical emphasis compared with many entry-level SLP programs.
Entry requirements
Applicants without an undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders must complete prerequisite courses with a grade of C or better. Required prerequisite courses are:
- Introduction to Communicative Disorders
- Phonetics
- Speech & Language Development
- Anatomy & Physiology of Speech and Hearing Mechanism
- Introduction to Audiology / Hearing Science
- Child and/or Adolescent Development
- Neuroscience
Additionally, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) requires background coursework in Biological Science, Social/Behavioral Science, Physical Science and Statistics.
