What you'll study

The program divides into a didactic year of campus-based courses and a clinical year of supervised practice. Didactic coursework introduces medical disciplines, physical diagnosis, practical clinical skills and integrates Scripture into topics such as medical ethics and sanctity of life. Sample coursework includes:

• Biblical Foundations of Modern Medicine
• Clinical Anatomy
• Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology, and Lab & Diagnostic series
• Biomedical Ethics and Culture
• PA Profession & Healthcare Systems

The clinical year consists of nine four-week supervised clinical rotations across areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, surgery, emergency medicine, and behavioral medicine, plus two elective rotations. Some behavioral health encounters may include telemedicine components.

Entry requirements

Applicants apply through the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) and must also complete the free Cedarville Graduate Application. Program cohorts matriculate each May.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to function as generalist physician assistants able to diagnose, manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and work across medical specialties. The program emphasizes versatility to practice in diverse settings and collaborative team-based care; clinical rotations provide hands-on experience to inform specialty choice and professional development.
