What you'll study

The curriculum provides a comprehensive foundation in psychology as a science. Course topics cover cognitive processes, emotional well-being, developmental psychology, mental health, social interaction and the biological mechanisms involved in decision-making. Study builds understanding and skills applicable across business, human services, law and other fields, and supports preparation for graduate study if you choose the 4-year route.

Entry requirements

There are no formal admission requirements for either the 3-year or 4-year program. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. You can enrol anytime and start immediately regardless of prior education.

Athabasca University offers various financial aid and awards to help students manage costs. Tuition is paid per course on a pay-as-you-go basis and fees vary by location and course. AU also considers transfer credit and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) for eligible prior post-secondary education or relevant life and work experience; transfer applicants must complete a minimum of 30 credits at AU.
