Highlights"
Post-study work options (Ireland): If you complete a programme in Ireland and then move into a qualifying course, you may be able to apply for permission to work after your studies, depending on your circumstances and the type of qualification you complete.
Important: Online study may not automatically lead to the same visa/work-permit outcomes as full-time study in Ireland. Eligibility depends on whether you hold an Irish immigration permission for study and whether your subsequent programme qualifies under the relevant rules.
Typical eligibility factors:
- You must have completed a recognised programme of study.
- You may need to hold the correct immigration permission during your studies.
- Work permission is generally linked to the level and type of qualification and your immigration status at the time of application.
- Rules can change, and additional conditions may apply (for example, timing of application and documentation requirements).
Next steps: Check the latest guidance from the Irish immigration authorities and confirm your specific eligibility with the programme provider or your immigration adviser before applying.
