What you'll study

This master's combines courses in environmental science, policy, social dimensions of sustainability and sustainable systems practice. Core themes include systems thinking, sustainability assessment and metrics, resilience and adaptation, sustainable food and land use, energy and climate policy, and sustainable supply chains. Teaching mixes seminar-style discussion, methods training and applied projects.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as environmental science, ecology, geography, planning, engineering, economics, public policy or business. Admissions typically consider academic record, letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose outlining research or practice interests, and a CV or résumé showing relevant experience. GRE scores may be optional or considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the applicant's background.

International applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through an accepted test unless exempt. Relevant professional experience, previous coursework in statistics or research methods, and a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary work are advantageous.
