What you'll study

The MPA curriculum combines core coursework in public management and policy analysis with elective specialisations and a practicum or capstone experience. Core subjects typically include public budgeting and financial management, quantitative methods for public policy, microeconomics for public decision‑making, programme evaluation, administrative law and public sector ethics. Students learn management skills such as strategic planning, performance measurement, human resources and organisational behaviour adapted to the public and nonprofit contexts.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally require a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or its equivalent. Admissions consider academic transcripts, a statement of purpose outlining professional objectives and fit with the programme, a current résumé or CV, and letters of recommendation (commonly two or three). Some applicants submit GRE scores if they choose, but standardised tests may not be required for all candidates; check the school’s admissions guidance for current policy.

Applicants with professional experience in public service, nonprofit work or related fields are competitive, though the programme admits both early‑career and mid‑career students. International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through an approved test unless exempt; specific score requirements are set by the school.
