What you'll study

The programme combines a broad foundation in historical methods and historiography with specialised courses focused on medieval and early modern Europe. You will study the cultural, religious and intellectual transformations from the fall of the Roman Empire through the Renaissance and the Reformation, examining topics such as monarchy and state formation, urban and rural life, material culture, book history, visual culture, and the history of science and religion.
