The programme provides a rigorous core in molecular and cellular biology, human physiology, biochemistry and genetics, combined with training in laboratory techniques, quantitative data analysis and research methods. Typical first-year subjects cover foundational topics such as cellular structure and function, chemical basis of biology, introductory genetics and basic statistics for biomedicine.
In later years students move into specialised streams and elective units. Common subjects include immunology, pharmacology, neuroscience, microbiology and infectious disease, molecular medicine, and bioinformatics. Practical components emphasise laboratory skills, experimental design, data interpretation and scientific communication.
