What you'll study

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold at least a UK lower second-class honours degree (2:2) or an equivalent qualification in computer science, software engineering or a closely related discipline. Candidates with a degree in another subject but with demonstrable programming experience, quantitative skills, or relevant professional experience may also be considered.

Other typical requirements include:

• Evidence of competence in programming and mathematics (for example, coursework, a portfolio, or prior modules in programming and discrete mathematics).
• A personal statement outlining motivations and relevant experience, and one or two academic or professional references.
• International applicants will need to meet English language requirements set by the university (evidence of a recognised qualification in English proficiency is required if applicable).

Selection may include interview or coding assessment in specific cases, especially where candidates come from non-traditional backgrounds.
