What you'll study

The programme combines taught modules, practical laboratory work and an independent research project or applied thesis. Core areas typically covered include exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control and learning, sports psychology, and principles of training and performance. Students also study research methods and statistics specific to sport science, assessment and prescription of physical activity, and advanced topics in strength and conditioning and injury prevention.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports science, kinesiology, physiotherapy, or a closely related discipline. A competitive cumulative grade or GPA from the undergraduate degree is usually required. Relevant professional experience in coaching, fitness, rehabilitation or teaching can strengthen an application.

• Evidence of research potential or relevant professional experience (CV, references, or portfolio).
• Applicants whose first language is not English/Arabic may be asked to demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction according to university regulations.
