What you'll study

This master's combines theory and applied practice to deepen your knowledge of human resources management within public and private organisations. You will study strategic and operational aspects of HR, labour law and industrial relations, and contemporary topics such as digital HR, analytics and change management.

• Core modules: Strategic Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour and Development, Labour Legislation and Social Security, Performance Management and Reward Systems.
• Applied modules: Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding, Training and Development, Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution, Occupational Health and Wellbeing.
• Specialist modules: HR Analytics and Decision-Making, Compensation and Benefits Design, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace, Leadership Development and Coaching.
• Research and practice: A methods module covering qualitative and quantitative research techniques is included, followed by a capstone project, practicum or thesis where you apply research or consultancy skills to a real organisational problem. Field visits, case studies and simulated HR scenarios form part of the assessment strategy.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally required to hold a recognised bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience. Typical academic backgrounds include business administration, psychology, law, social sciences or previously studied HR/management subjects.

• Relevant professional experience in human resources, management or related functions will strengthen an application and may be required for mature applicants without a directly related degree.
• Some programmes may ask for evidence of quantitative and research ability; applicants with limited academic preparation in these areas may be asked to complete bridging modules.
• International applicants should demonstrate sufficient language proficiency if instruction is not in their first language, and provide certified transcripts and references as part of the application.
