Programme overview

This fully online BA concentration develops managers and leaders for homeland security, emergency services and emergency management organizations. The program emphasizes organizationally sound and ethical management, critical thinking, decisive action and practical problem-solving for challenges faced by public safety and emergency response agencies. Total credit requirement is 122 credits; the program accepts new students in fall (August & October), spring (January & March) and summer (May & June).

What you'll study

Coursework and learning focus on the management and leadership aspects of emergency services and homeland security rather than technical first-responder skills. Students learn to understand agency operations, apply ethical frameworks in decision-making, evaluate complex emergency management problems, and design effective organizational responses. Entry requirements

• No prior degree is required to enroll.
• Transcript submission depends on transfer credit: if you transfer more than 24 credit hours, official 2- and 4-year school transcripts are required; if less than 24 transfer credit hours, official 2- and 4-year school transcripts plus official high school or GED transcripts are required.
• The application deadline is two weeks before a term start date.
