A three-year undergraduate degree that develops business, marketing and product skills for the fashion industry without a design focus. Suited to creative thinkers who want commercial roles—marketing, buying, merchandising, e‑commerce—or to start their own fashion enterprise.

What you'll study

The degree contains 22 core units and 2 electives grouped around Marketing Engagement, Product Development, Business Skills and Fashion Contexts. Study is organised over three years (two semesters per year, four units per semester).

  • Year 1: HF1001 Visual Design Technologies; HF1002 Textiles and Materials; HF1004 Professional Communication & Ethics; HF1201 The Fashion Cycle; HF1003 Consumer Behaviour; HF1005 Product Development Strategies; HF1204 Principles of Fashion Management; HF1206 Fashion Finance and Accounting.
  • Year 2: HF2001 Research Methods and Market Intelligence; HF2005 Fashion History & Cultural Movements; HF2201 Brand Development; HF2202 Supply Chain Management & Analysis; HF2003 Fashion Tech; HF2013 Styling; HF2203 Buying and Financial Decision Making; HF2207 Fashion Marketing Strategies.
  • Year 3: HF3001 Creative Business Project 1; HF3205 Visual Merchandising and Inventory Management; HF3207 E‑Commerce & Digital Marketing; HF3208 Law & Creative Industries; HF3002 Creative Project 2; HF3204 Modern Fashion Economies; plus one elective.
  • Electives listed include HF3206 Content Creation & Collaboration and HFE2011 Copy Writing & Digital Content; students may also choose an approved unit from the Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Information Systems subject to Course Convener approval and unit availability.

Entry requirements

Designed to prepare graduates for entry-level roles such as fashion marketing assistant, buying assistant (merchandise buyer support), stylist assistant, creative coordination assistant, e‑commerce assistant and brand or marketing coordinator.
