Programme overview

This Bachelor study is a daily, English-language programme in Music Interpretation and Creation at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Admissions are run as a supplementary procedure for the 2026/2027 academic year with a combined intake across English- and Slovak-language places.

What you'll study

The programme is organized by specialization rather than by a single fixed module list. Available specializations include: Violin, Viola, Double Bass, Guitar, Harp, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion, Accordion, Piano (concert study plan), Piano (pedagogical study plan), Organ, and Composition (and conducting). Applicants must choose both the study programme and the study plan where applicable. Entry requirements

Admission takes place in two rounds.

• 1st round: Submit a motivation letter (one standard page / ~1,800 characters) and a YouTube link or DVD-quality mp4 recording containing all mandatory repertoire for the chosen specialization. Recordings must be Full HD, no older than six months, continuous single-shot (no cuts), show face and hands, and include a short spoken introduction (max. 2 minutes). Applicants to composition must submit a score instead of a performance recording.
• 2nd round: An online oral interview or online live presentation for selected candidates assessing English communication, confirmation of motivations, general cultural knowledge, and basics of music theory and music history.

Application documents must include a curriculum vitae, a certified photocopy of secondary school diploma, and proof of payment of the admission fee. Electronic application is required; completed documentation should also be sent by registered mail or email to the Dean’s Office. Applicants must provide a valid email address for the official invitation. Application deadline: May 11, 2026. Term of admission: 8–26 June 2026.

Fees and payments noted on the announcement: Tuition for full-time study is listed as c5000 per academic year. A fee for the material securing of the admission procedure (English-language admission tests) is c100 (payable by bank transfer, postal order or Eurogiro). Refunds of part of the admission fee may be possible for verified incapacity with medical documentation; refund requests must include an IBAN.
