Applications open for fall entry; the program begins each August and uses a cohort structure. Required materials include official transcripts, a current résumé/CV, two completed recommendation forms (from instructors or employers; family members are not accepted), and a 500–750 word statement of intent. A preferred undergraduate GPA is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants are encouraged (but not required) to have prior coursework in accounting, economics, statistics and computer literacy (including Word and Excel). Xavier does not require the GMAT/GRE. Qualified full-time and Executive MHSA applicants are offered interviews; certificate applicants do not require interviews. Xavier is not admitting international applicants to these graduate healthcare administration programs at this time.
The program is designed to prepare graduates for leadership and administrative roles within health-related organizations by combining strategic, financial and policy instruction with sustained practical placements. The third-year residency and optional paid Co-Op provide workplace experience intended to bridge academic learning and operational responsibilities in clinical and healthcare operations settings.
The program page lists tuition and fees information separately; applicants should consult Xavier's admissions and financial aid offices for scholarships, assistantships or other funding options. Note that the MHSA Co-Op provides a pathway to paid, hands-on experience beginning in semester two for eligible full-time students, which can help offset living costs while studying.
