Programme overview

Athabasca University’s online BA in English explores literature across genres, regions and historical periods while strengthening critical and creative thinking. The program is offered as either a 3-year concentration (90 credits) or a 4-year major (120 credits); the 3-year route is a marketable credential but does not provide automatic entry to most graduate programs, while the 4-year degree prepares students for graduate study and allows double majors or a minor.

Transfer credit and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) may reduce course load; students granted transfer credit must complete a minimum of 30 credits at AU.
