Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Beacon Scholarship 2026/2027, applicants must:

  • Be a national and resident of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, or South Africa (from a previously disadvantaged background).
  • Have received an offer of admission to study a three- or four-year undergraduate program at Imperial College London.
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership potential.
  • Show significant financial need — typically, families with an annual income above USD 100,000 do not qualify.
  • Be committed to contributing to the development of their home country after graduation.
  • Not already be enrolled as a continuing student at Imperial (new applicants only).

Application Procedure

Follow these steps to apply for the Beacon Scholarship at Imperial College London:

  • Register on The Beacon Scholarship website and download a Nomination Form.
  • Apply for an eligible undergraduate course at Imperial College London via UCAS by 31 December 2025, ensuring you receive an offer of admission by 11 February 2026.
