Scholarship Funding Packages
The ACU Industry PhD Scholarships provide a comprehensive funding package for PhD candidates, supporting their research journey over a period of up to 3.5 years. The package includes:
- Stipend Scholarship: A stipend valued at $32,192 per annum (2024 rate, indexed annually) to support living expenses.
- Tuition Fee Scholarship: Valued at $30,000 per annum (2024), covering tuition costs.
- Single Overseas Student Health Cover Policy: Ensuring health coverage for international candidates.
- Relocation Allowance: A $2,000 allowance to support the relocation of international candidates.
These scholarship conditions align with the ACU Research Training Program Scholarship Policy, ensuring that candidates receive robust support throughout their PhD journey.
Options for Industry Partnership
ACU offers two primary options for industry partners to support the CU Industry PhD Scholarships:
- Fully Funded by Industry: In this model, the industry partner contributes $40,000 per annum for 3.5 years. This funding covers the stipend scholarship, including annual indexation and other allowances and benefits. ACU complements this with a Tuition Fee Scholarship valued at $30,000 per annum.
- Co-Funded by Industry: For organizations looking to share the financial commitment, the co-funded option is available. Here, the industry partner contributes $20,000 per annum for 3.5 years. ACU matches this contribution with an additional $20,000 per annum and provides a Tuition Fee Scholarship valued at $30,000 per annum.
Eligible Nationalities
This scholarship is open to domestic and international students of all nationalities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualifications: A Master's degree or equivalent with a strong academic record.
- Research Proposal: A well-developed research proposal that aligns with the scholarship's objectives and the industry partner's needs.
- Language Proficiency: English language proficiency, as demonstrated by standardized tests like IELTS or TOEFL (if applicable).
- Visa Requirements: If applicable, the candidate must meet the visa requirements for studying in Australia.
