BPP University UK Law Scholarships 2025

BPP University is once again offering one of the UK’s largest and most comprehensive law scholarship schemes for the 2025–26 academic year. With over £1.4 million dedicated exclusively to postgraduate law students, BPP aims to remove financial barriers and promote diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.

Whether you're transitioning to a career in law, aiming to become a solicitor or barrister, or seeking to develop your professional legal skills, BPP offers full, half, and £3,000 scholarships across a range of courses. Many awards focus on students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds, reinforcing BPP’s commitment to widening access to legal education.

Types of Law Scholarships Offered at BPP University

1. Converting to Law Scholarships

For non-law graduates and career changers entering the legal profession.

Career Changer Scholarship

  1. For professionals shifting from another career into law.
  2. Courses: PGDL, Master's Law Conversion, LLM Law Conversion with SQE1
  3. Awards: £3,000, Half Fee, or Full Fee

Converting to Law Scholarship

  1. For recent non-law graduates pursuing a legal qualification.
  2. Courses: Same as above
  3. Awards: £3,000, Half Fee, or Full Fee

2. Solicitor Scholarships

Focused on supporting students taking the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) pathway.

SQE Future Lawyer Scholarship

  1. For aspiring solicitors in various practice areas (commercial, in-house, family, etc.)
  2. Courses: LLM SQE1&2, SQE1&2 Diploma, SQE1 Prep, LLM Law Conversion with SQE1
  3. Awards: £3,000, Half Fee, or Full Fee

SQE Exam Prep Scholarship

  1. Tailored for those studying SQE1 and SQE2 separately.
  2. Courses: SQE1 & SQE2 Prep
  3. Award: £800

Macfarlanes Scholarship

  1. For students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
  2. Award: Full Fee
  3. Apply through Macfarlanes selection process

Externally Funded Scholarships

  1. Diversity Access Scheme (Law Society) – Full Fee
  2. Legal Social Mobility Fund (formerly AS Foundation) – £5,000

3. Barrister Scholarships

BTC Future Lawyer Scholarship

  1. For aspiring barristers in criminal, commercial, chancery, or public law.
  2. Courses: All BTC variants
  3. Awards: £3,000, Half Fee, or Full Fee

BTC Advocacy Scholarship

  1. Based on excellence in advocacy (Separate application process)
  2. Award: £3,000

BTC Excellence Award

  1. Automatically awarded to BTC students with a first-class undergraduate degree.
  2. Award: £1,000

Advocate of the Year Scholarship

  1. An annual competition held with university law societies.
  2. Awards: £5,000, £3,000, £2,000

Bridging the Bar Scholarship

  1. Supports aspiring barristers from underrepresented backgrounds.
  2. Award: £5,000
  3. Apply externally via BTB

4. General Law Scholarships

Campus Ambassador Scholarship

  1. For students who promote BPP events and outreach activities.
  2. Award: Up to £3,000

Bridge Scholarships

  1. For students from BPP partner universities participating in Bridge to the Bar/SQE.
  2. Award: Up to £5,000

University-Wide Scholarships and Discounts

International Postgraduate Bursary

  1. Automatically awarded to international students with a first-class degree.
  2. Award: £1,000
  3. Courses: All university-level programs
