What you'll study

This 18-credit certificate provides concentrated coursework in the theory and practice of nursing education. Core topics typically include curriculum development and evaluation for nursing programmes, adult learning theory, clinical teaching and supervision, assessment and measurement in health professions education, and the use of simulation and educational technology.

• Curriculum Design and Evaluation — principles of programme and course design, outcomes-based curricula, accreditation considerations and continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching Strategies and Assessment — learner-centred approaches, formative and summative assessment, feedback techniques and objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs).

Applicants are normally required to be licensed registered nurses and to hold a master’s degree in nursing or a closely related health discipline. Typical admissions requirements include:
