What you'll study

Graduate study may build on an undergraduate engineering discipline or enable a change of field. The program supports pivots among engineering specialties and transitions from technical bachelor’s degrees outside engineering into engineering-relevant study. Study opportunities include areas housed outside traditional engineering departments, such as energy systems, health systems, technical entrepreneurship, structural engineering, catastrophe modeling and resilience, polymer science, aerospace and space systems, and data science.

Entry requirements

Current Lehigh undergraduates who wish to enrol in the 4+1 accelerated pathway must declare the master’s program of interest and hold a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Students in the 4+1 program who do not qualify for direct admission to the full master’s program based on GPA must submit a formal application with two letters of recommendation and a personal statement.

Career prospects

Master’s degrees in engineering are increasingly common in the workplace. Completing this program lets graduates build new technical skills or deepen existing ones, expanding options across traditional engineering roles and interdisciplinary areas noted above.
