Cost & earnings at Shenandoah University What students borrow here, and what they go on to earn
A transfer-entry Bachelor of Science in Nursing that admits students who have finished required prerequisites and general education at other institutions. Suited to learners who want an accelerated route into Shenandoah’s undergraduate nursing curriculum, clinical practice and NCLEX preparation.
The curriculum includes core nursing courses and topics explicitly listed by the school, such as nursing ethics and genomics, nursing research and evidence-based practice, and Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Relief. Learning combines classroom theory, skills lab work using high- and low-fidelity simulation manikins, and supervised clinical placements with regional hospitals and community partners.
The track is intended for students who have already completed the required prerequisite and general education coursework at other colleges or universities. Admission to the transfer track is offered only at the Winchester main campus and for the fall semester start; transfer candidates enter at the designated point in the existing BSN sequence.
Graduates are prepared to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and apply for registered nurse positions. The program notes consistently strong first-time NCLEX pass rates relative to national averages. Employment settings listed include acute-care hospitals, clinics, medical practices, public health departments, hospice, home care, military service, school nursing, international care and other community-based roles; graduates may also pursue graduate study or specialization in advanced practice, education or research.
Shenandoah University highlights strong local and regional recognition for its nursing graduates; prospective transfer students should consult the university’s financial aid and scholarship offices for funding options, institutional awards and guidance on tuition support for transfer entrants.
