What you'll study

Coursework weaves performance and pedagogy. Students take private lessons and perform in ensembles such as Concert Choir, OtterCap Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble, plus chamber music opportunities. Methods and professional courses include guitar & ukulele methods, string methods, vocal/choral methods, conducting and arranging. Regular in-school placements begin in the first year and continue annually, providing progressively deeper supervised teaching experience.

Entry requirements

The programme is offered through Otterbein University; applicants should consult Otterbein Admissions for specific undergraduate entry criteria and audition/portfolio expectations. Admission into the teacher education sequence is coordinated by the Departments of Music and Education and includes progressive placement and supervision throughout the four years.
