What you'll study

The curriculum combines foundation courses, a business core, graduate electives and a capstone. A detailed plan of study is developed by the MBA director based on each student’s academic preparation.

  • Business Core (12 credits): MBA-610 Financial Management; MBA-680 Strategic Marketing Operations; MBA-681 Leadership Development & Organizational Change; MBA-616 Accounting Practice & Analysis.
  • Graduate Electives (18 credits): 18 credits chosen from electives (MBA-611 through MBA-699 excluding core and MBA-649) and selected SAM and MSA courses; special topics may also be available.
  • Capstone (3 credits): MBA-649 Business Policy.
  • Credit totals: The published total is 42 credits; the minimum number of credits required for the MBA degree is 30 (excluding foundation courses).

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a completed bachelor's degree before starting the program and provide official transcripts and a résumé. A satisfactory GMAT or GRE score is normally required, though waivers may be granted by the MBA program director under specified conditions. International applicants must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores and consult Online & International Student Services for additional requirements.

  • GMAT/GRE waiver is possible for: undergraduate GPA ≥3.30; GPA 3.00–3.29 with two or more years of significant leadership experience; possession of certain earned credentials (Ph.D., Ed.D., JD, MD/DO, CPA); strong results on other graduate aptitude tests (e.g., LSAT); or other compelling post-college experience reviewed by the director.
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply at least six weeks before their intended start date.

Career prospects

The program emphasizes skills employers expect from MBA graduates: financial and managerial accounting understanding, financial decision tools, market segmentation and distribution knowledge, leadership and team competencies, strategic management application, and the ability to interpret business and investment reporting. Elective choices and concentrations allow students to build targeted capabilities in analytics, finance or marketing to align with specific career goals.
