What you'll study

Coursework emphasizes competence in the visual arts and related areas; the program provides facilities and faculty assistance to develop skills across studio practice, art education, art history and graphic arts. The BFA expects work that demonstrates a focused area of interest and creative achievement.

Entry requirements

• Successful completion of three semesters of coursework (minimum 24 credit hours in Art).
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in all art courses taken.
• A portfolio of twenty (20) images presenting a cohesive body of current or recent work that reflects your area of interest.
• A letter of intent explaining reasons for applying, what you hope to gain, future artistic and professional goals, and the primary media you intend to focus on.
• Sponsorship from a full-time Expressive Arts faculty member.

Career prospects

Graduates move into professional careers in visual arts, art education, music and graphic arts; the BFA is explicitly positioned as preparation for graduate study or for art-related careers. The AA in Graphic Design is identified as a route toward computer-related workforce roles.
