A pathway for students who hold other theological master’s degrees to meet ACU’s Master of Divinity requirements and become eligible to apply for the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min). Suited to experienced ministry professionals or theological graduates seeking to consolidate prior graduate coursework into the M.Div. framework and prepare for doctoral study.
The programme emphasizes preparation for doctoral-level ministry study. Key focuses include critical engagement with primary biblical sources, advanced research methods in one of the disciplines of biblical studies, theology, or church history, and completion of original research demonstrating scholarly contribution in the chosen field. ACU reviews existing graduate transcripts to determine which prior courses will be applied toward the M.Div. equivalency plan.
Graduates and equivalency candidates commonly serve in congregational and institutional ministry roles and are positioned to pursue doctoral study. Typical job titles include lead pastor, associate pastor, Christian educator, chaplain, and roles in social justice and non-profit ministry settings. The plan is explicitly intended to prepare students for the rigors of the D.Min.
