What you'll study

Coursework is designed to develop the knowledge and practical skills to help patients regain movement, manage pain and limit long‑term effects of injury or illness. The program materials reference clinical manuals, a student handbook, clinical requirements such as observation/experience forms, and a clinical manual to guide supervised patient care learning and externships.

Entry requirements

This is a selective admissions program. Applicants must follow the criteria in the Physical Therapist Assistant Application Book and submit the program application during the published window (Application Window: January 11, 2027 through May 17, 2027; Program Start: Fall 2027). Eligibility to sit for licensure in Florida also requires possession of a valid form of identification as defined in F.S. 486.081. Applicants should be aware that background checks, drug screening, convictions or incomplete immunizations may prevent employment or clinical placements.

Career prospects

Graduates who complete program requirements and pass licensure exams may work as physical therapist assistants in hospitals, private physical therapy practices, skilled nursing facilities and home health care. The program emphasizes preparation for the NPTE‑PTA and supports entry into supervised clinical roles as part of healthcare teams.
