What you'll study

All students complete the same set of 10 foundational doctoral courses focusing on doctoral writing, modern business theory and application, and research methodologies. After the core, students follow one of two sequences:

• Dissertation Track: coursework that leads into a sequenced dissertation series where independent research addresses a real‑world business problem under faculty mentorship.
• Capstone Project Track: coursework that leads into a sequenced capstone project series producing actionable recommendations for a significant business challenge; students on this track may select a concentration by taking or transferring MBA courses.

Entry requirements

Baker College does not require GRE or GMAT scores for DBA admission; the program emphasizes applicants' professional experience and academic potential. MBA graduates from Baker College can apply three MBA major courses toward a DBA concentration, and holders of a master’s degree in a business‑related field from other institutions may transfer up to nine master’s‑level credits into the Capstone Project Track, subject to credit review.

The program targets experienced professionals aiming for senior leadership roles (for example CEO, CIO, vice president, or president), senior positions across corporate, nonprofit, government, healthcare, education, manufacturing, energy, finance, technology, retail, and consulting sectors, or to teach at the college level.
