What you'll study

The curriculum includes lower-division prerequisites, a required core, elective business courses, and a capstone. Students may choose an emphasis in general business, accounting, management or marketing.

• Lower Division Major Prerequisites (6 units): ECON 103 - Introduction to Economics (3); MATH 205 - Introductory Statistics (3).
• Required Core (29 units): ACCT 220 Principles of Accounting I (4); ACCT 230 Principles of Accounting II (4); BUS 365 Business Ethics (3); BUS 430 Business Information Systems (3); BUS 475 Law and the Business Environment (3); INTB 370 International Business (3); MGT 350 Organizational Theory (3); MGT 352 Organizational Communication (3); MKT 300 Principles of Marketing (3).
• General Courses (9 units): Choose 9 units of business courses in any emphasis or elective area.
• Capstone Courses (4–7 units): BUS 480 Strategic Management (3) or BUS 482 Seminar in Business Strategy (4) or BUS 485 Internship (1–3).

Entry requirements

Students are expected to complete the lower-division prerequisites—ECON 103 and MATH 205—along with other foundational courses during their freshman and sophomore years. An emphasis should be selected in consultation with the major advisor.
