What you'll study

The curriculum balances foundational engineering and science with aviation-specific training. Major subject groups and example topics include:

• Foundations: mechanics, general physics, statics, strength of materials, dynamics (26 credits).
• Mathematics: linear algebra, calculus, probability (16 credits).
• Informatics & Electronics: programming, measurement techniques, electronics (10 credits).
• Chemistry, Thermo & Fluid Dynamics: heat transfer and related topics (10 credits).
• Additional skills: management and social sciences (4 credits) plus elective subjects (10 credits), total 13 credits.
• Advanced engineering & aeronautics: engineering drawing, basics of aviation, materials and manufacturing, vehicle and drive elements, principles of flight, airframes and systems, basic IR, powerplant, human performance, control, multi-engine topics (75 credits).
• Commercial Pilot specialisation: navigation, meteorology, flight operation, flight performance, flight planning, communication (35 credits).
• Thesis work: 15 credits.

Entry requirements

Applicants submit a general medical check by a local doctor when applying. Enrolled students must obtain a Class 1 Medical Certificate meeting EASA Part‑MED (1178/2011) requirements at their own expense by the end of the first semester (31 January); failure to obtain or maintain this certificate results in automatic dismissal and scholarship cancellation. The programme begins in September and detailed admission deadlines and requirements are available on the university's e-admission pages.

Career prospects

During training students can obtain operational qualifications such as Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), ATPL(A) theory credits, ICAO English (level 4+), Multi Engine Piston Instrument Rating (MEP/IR), Multi-Pilot APS MCC certificate, Master Pilot Certificate (PIR) and Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT). After graduation and passing the relevant authority exams, graduates may apply for pilot positions at many commercial airlines and work in air operations, ground handling or compliance assurance.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Tuition fees are stated per semester: EUR 14,650 for terms 1–6 and EUR 4,395 for the 7th and further terms (fees are paid in HUF per university rules). Medical examinations and the Class 1 Medical Certificate costs are borne by students and are not covered by the programme's scholarships; prospective applicants should budget for these mandatory expenses.
