A two-year interdisciplinary MA that combines cultural theory, the intellectual history of cultural institutions and practical management skills tailored to the digital age. Suited to current managers and staff of cultural centres, aspiring cultural leaders, graduates from design, arts, law, humanities and social sciences, and independent creators working within Israel’s cultural sector.

What you'll study

The programme balances background theory and intellectual history of cultural institutions and the broader concept of culture with a toolkit for managing cultural organisations in the digital era. Students also undertake practical placements and receive mentorship from leading practitioners in Israel and internationally. The course is structured across two academic years and totals 37 academic credits.

Entry requirements

The programme is designed for a selected cohort: current directors and staff of cultural institutions and centres, candidates aiming for managerial roles in the cultural field, and graduates of first degrees in management, design, art, law, humanities and social sciences, as well as independent cultural creators active in Israel’s cultural scene.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to lead and manage cultural institutions, organisations and bodies; to initiate and run cultural projects; and to adapt institutions to fast-changing social and technological environments using an expanded managerial and theoretical skill set.
