Programme overview

Presencial degree (240 ECTS) taught in Spanish at the Trinitarios campus. The programme addresses medico‑legal investigation, security and prevention policies alongside analysis of criminal behaviour. Teaching is delivered by academics and professionals active in Guardia Civil, Policía Nacional, Policía Local, Medicina Legal, ciencias forenses and victim assistance offices. The UCV offers options to study a double degree in Derecho + Criminología and a Certificate in soft skills for criminology; students can also participate in EU‑CONEXUS initiatives and international mobility programmes such as Erasmus.

What you'll study

The curriculum adopts an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the crime, the offender, the victim and social control. Training emphasizes practical and applied work in criminalistics, victimology and medico‑legal investigation, combined with preventative policy and public/private security planning. The programme highlights preparation for producing criminological profiles and expert reports.

Entry requirements

Admission and reservation steps are administered by UCV. Career prospects

Graduates can prepare for public selection processes in police and security services (Policía Local, Cuerpo Nacional de Policía, Guardia Civil and other public administrations); work in victim assistance offices and related institutions; prepare criminological profiles and pericial reports; engage in teaching and research in criminology, victimology and criminalistics; work as criminologists within private companies; and advise on public and private security planning and local crime prevention policy.
