The programme provides media-focused courses and language enhancement opportunities that develop professional communication and cross-cultural competencies. All international students may access complimentary Mandarin Chinese courses to support living and working in Taiwan and the broader region.

Entry requirements

For English-taught programmes applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate English proficiency at CEFR B1 level or above. Applicants submit required documents during the official application period announced each academic year.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for roles in film, television, communication and related media sectors where English-language capability and cross-cultural skills are assets. The curriculum’s media orientation and hands-on elements aim to equip students for professional practice in media production, communication, or regional international roles.

Scholarships & funding angle

Multiple scholarship pathways are available, including the SHU International Elite Program (merit-based support for international students in film, television and communication areas), the Sports Elite Scholarship for student-athletes, and Taiwan government scholarships such as the Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship. Award packages may include tuition assistance, accommodation support and on-campus work-study; recipients must comply with university work-study regulations and any assigned training or service requirements.
